Hi there, where do I get my MCID from. I have not registered for or completed any courses yet, my company needs the MCID to register me.

MCP ID/MC IDs have not been used since the merger of Certification profiles and Learn profiles in 2024. Your Microsoft Learn username is now your unique ID.

An MCID (Microsoft Certification ID) is created only after earning a Microsoft certification or completing a qualifying exam. If no exams or certifications have been completed yet, there is no MCID to retrieve.

To proceed, first complete a Microsoft certification exam under the company’s intended account. After the exam is delivered and the result is processed, the MCID will be associated with that certification profile. If there are issues later (for example, not seeing the certification or needing the ID), use Microsoft Credentials Support to get help with the certification profile and ID.

For legacy or older IDs (such as MCP IDs), recovery is also handled through Credentials Support.

To contact Credentials Support and resolve any MCID or certification-profile issues:

    1. Go to the online support request page at the link provided in the Credentials support article.
    2. Ensure “Learning” is selected as Product family and “Microsoft Credentials” as Product or Service.
    3. Select the appropriate category, choose “Professional No Charge,” and submit the request with Learn username and details.
