Hi everyone,

I’m subscribed to Microsoft 365 Premium and have my apps set to the Beta Channel. I’ve enabled Frontier features, but I still don’t see Agent Mode (Frontier tool) in Word, either on the web or desktop. I confirmed that the versions are upto date.

Is this a known rollout delay, or is there something else I should check?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Prashant Joshi,

Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Q&A forum

I understand that you’re using Microsoft 365 Premium with the Beta Channel enabled but still don’t see Agent Mode (Frontier tool) in Word on either web or desktop.

A few things to clarify:

  1. Frontier features don’t guarantee immediate Agent Mode availability
    • Even with Premium + Beta Channel + Frontier features enabled, Agent Mode is still being rolled out gradually.
    • It is released in stages on both tenants and accounts, not all at once.
  2. Word Desktop currently gets new features later than Word Online
    • Agent Mode often appears on Word Online first, and then desktop builds receive it afterward depending on region and account eligibility.
  3. Check these points
    • You’re signed in with the same Premium account on all devices
    • In Word Online: go to Settings > App settings > Experiments and ensure Frontier is toggled on
    • Word Desktop: confirm you’re on Beta Channel under File > Account > Office Insider

Regards,
