I set up my wife's Microsoft Account using Office 365. On her laptop running Windows 11 26H2 but she also uses her Samsung android phone. Her account is say Moderator note: PII ******@outlook.com she logons to that on PC. However her Email is on VM say Moderator note: PII ******@blueyonder.co.uk. She uses Outlook 365 on the laptop for this email. A nightmare to set up as MS assumes your mail will be MS Google Yahoo etc.. So I have to force it via Advanced and all the PORTS etc.. On the Android phone is just such a nightmare - thanks MS/Google you not the only ones! But her office 365 account has her EMAIL as Moderator note: PII removed@outlookcom (I must have some how messed up when setting up). Also the alternative Email for sending recover is on AOL we don't have an EOL she would use her blue yonder. So WE want:
Account: Moderator note: PII ******@outlook.com

Email: Moderator note: PII ******@outlook.com

Alt email: Moderator note: PII ******@blueyonder.co.uk.

On the laptop she uses HALO PIN ok

How can we remove the wrong Email and correct ALT Email. I have gone on her account page on the account.microsoft.com but can find how to remove the wrong MS Email and the wrong ALT Email. I have an MS account and think I may be the master account on our MS office 365 subscription.

Moderator note: moved from Microsoft 365 and Office | Microsoft To Do | For home

Outlook | Windows | New Outlook for Windows | For home

    Welcome Graham Marriott,

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data. Thanks for the detailed post. Getting email set up on more than one device can be frustrating, and I'm glad the laptop sign-in with PIN works.

    Please try the step below:

Step 1: Make the address she signs in with the primary alias

Step 2: Remove the address added by mistake

    • On the same page, select "Remove" next to the Outlook.com address added by mistake. Choose Add email, or select Remove next to an existing address.

You can't remove the primary alias, so do Step 1 first. Once the address is removed, emails sent to it won't reach her any more. Before you remove it, make sure nothing important is still being sent to that address.

Step 3: Add her Virgin Media email as a backup email for security codes

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/security and select Manage how I sign in (on some screens this is called Advanced security options).
    2. Select Add a new way to sign in or verify and choose Email a code
    3. Enter her Virgin Media email address, then type in the code Microsoft sends to that inbox to confirm it.

Step 4: Remove the AOL address

    • Only do this after the Virgin Media address is confirmed. On the same security page, find the AOL address, expand it and select Remove

    Looking forward to your update.
