MERP

The Microsoft Error Reporting from OneDrive pops up all the time, but immediately closes again. Restarted three times already and ran auto-update (no updates found). I don't have a folder /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MERP or MERP2.0. This is really annoying. This is for sure caused by OneDrive since closing OneDrive solves this, but I need OneDrive for my work.

Additionally, I just found out that I can't read any of the files in my OneDrive (using Finder).

    Hi,

The Microsoft Error Reporting window only appears when a Microsoft app crashes, so the pop-up itself is the symptom: OneDrive is crashing every time it tries to start. That also explains why you cannot open your OneDrive files in Finder. With Files On-Demand, those files need the OneDrive app running to open.

Since restarts and updates did not help, I would do a clean reinstall of OneDrive:

    1. Quit OneDrive completely. Click the OneDrive cloud icon in the menu bar, open Settings, and choose Quit OneDrive. If the icon is not there, open Activity Monitor and quit any OneDrive process.
    2. In Finder, open the Applications folder and drag OneDrive to the Bin.
    3. Download a fresh copy of OneDrive from the Mac App Store or from the Microsoft website and install it.
    4. Sign in with your work account and let it finish syncing before opening files from Finder.

That replaces whatever damaged component is making it crash on launch. If the crash comes back after a clean reinstall, the next thing I would check is the crash log in Console.app, but a clean reinstall fixes this in most cases.

    Thanks!
