    Hello,

I've noticed several other users reporting the same issue in this forum over the past few days. However, I haven't seen any official acknowledgment from Microsoft yet, so this appears to be an emerging issue rather than an isolated case.

Based on user reports, switching to the Beta channel (version 16.116, build 26102843) appears to resolve the issue. However, please note that this is an unofficial workaround, not a confirmed fix from Microsoft. Beta builds may also introduce other issues.

Another workaround reported by other user is

First, quit Excel completely. Then reopen Excel. Very important - don't open any workbook, not even a blank one. Just open the app itself.

Go to Help > Clear Application Data > clear Experimental Features.

    Once done, restart Excel.

    ========================

I also strongly encourage you to report this issue directly through Excel's Help > Feedback feature to make engineer team aware of this.

    Hello Sherley Lau,

This issue can happen when the PivotTable retains an old filter or data cache, even after refreshing.

Before troubleshooting, use File > Save As to create a backup copy of the workbook and test the following steps on that copy.

First, clear any PivotTable filters, especially date filters, and set them to All. If the dates are grouped, ungroup them temporarily. You can also remove the date field from the PivotTable, add it back, and then refresh again.

If the issue continues, select the PivotTable and open PivotTable Analyze > Options > Data. Set Number of items to retain per field to None, select OK, and refresh the PivotTable.

Also check PivotTable Analyze > Change Data Source to confirm the new rows are included. If possible, convert the source range to an Excel Table by pressing Ctrl+T so future rows are included automatically.

If it still does not refresh, create a new PivotTable from the same source to check whether the original PivotTable cache is damaged.

Let me know how it goes!

    1. Select any cell in the PivotTable.
    2. On the PivotTable Analyze tab, select Refresh in the Data group, or press Alt+F5.
    3. If multiple PivotTables need updating, select the Refresh arrow and choose Refresh All.
    4. If Excel changes the PivotTable layout or formatting after refresh, go to PivotTable Analyze > Options > Layout & Format and check:
      • Autofit column widths on update
      • Preserve cell formatting on update
    5. To refresh automatically when opening the workbook, go to PivotTable Analyze > Options > Data and check Refresh data when opening the file.

If refresh is blocked because the PivotTable is read-only, that version of Excel may not support some PivotTable features in the workbook. In that case:

    • Open the workbook in Excel for the web and refresh there, or
    • Re-create the PivotTable if needed.

If the PivotTable still does not show the newest rows after refresh, the source may need adjustment:

    • If the source is an Excel table, rows added to the table are included when the PivotTable is refreshed.
    • If the source is not a table, change the PivotTable source data to include the new rows.

If a #SPILL! error appears during refresh, clear any data, merged cells, or other content blocking the PivotTable from expanding.
