Using Outlook for Android for personal email and calendar management
Welcome muhammad abdullah rizwan,
I'm sorry your account was hacked, and I'm glad you got it back. Losing emails you kept for your records is stressful.
To help me guide you, please answer these questions:
- Does your email address end in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com or @live.com? Or is it another provider (for example Gmail) that you added to the Outlook app?
- Are the emails missing everywhere, including when you sign in to Outlook.com in a web browser on a computer? Or are they only missing in the Outlook app on your Android phone?
- Were the missing emails in your Inbox, or in folders you created yourself?
In the meantime, please try these steps. Use a computer and a web browser at https://outlook.live.com, because some of these options aren't available in the mobile app.
Step 1: Check the "Deleted Items", "Junk Email" and "Archive" folders
- When Outlook items are deleted, you can often recover them if they are in your Deleted Items or Junk Email folders. Open each folder and look for your emails.
- Also check "Archive", because if a message has been archived, it won't appear in your inbox.
- To move an email back, select it and choose "Move to" > "Inbox".
Step 2: Recover emails that were permanently deleted (please do this soon)
- In some cases, you can even recover items after the Deleted Items folder is emptied.
- Open the "Deleted Items" folder. At the top of the message list, select "Recover items deleted from this folder".
- Select the emails you want, then choose "Restore". Recovered items are moved to the Deleted Items folder. From there you can move them to any folder you like.
- These items are only kept for a limited time, so please do this step as soon as you can.

Step 3: Check for rules the hacker may have created
- Go to "Settings" (gear icon) > "Mail" > "Rules".
- If you find a rule that's incorrectly moving messages out of your inbox, select to edit the rule or to delete it. Remove any rule you didn't create yourself.
- Note: You must use a computer to view and edit your rules.
- If a rule was moving emails into another folder, check that folder too. Your emails may still be there.
Looking forward to your update.
