    Greetings!

This is Tin, I'll do my best to help. What exactly are you seeing when launching the Outlook app? Is there any error message?

Have you tried to manually sign in your account on it? If not, kindly click File Tab then click Accounts and then try to manually sign in your account and see if it will give you an error. Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Tin

Add the email account directly in Outlook on the new Mac, because Outlook must show the account as connected before it can download messages.

    1. Add or reconnect the account

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Select Outlook > Settings > Accounts.
    3. If your email address is not listed, select + Add Account.
    4. Enter your complete email address, select Continue, and complete the provider’s sign-in prompts.
    5. Select Allow if your email provider asks for permission, then select Done. Outlook should begin downloading messages. ^1^

If the account is already listed, check its status under Tools > Accounts:

    • An orange indicator beside an Exchange or Microsoft 365 account means Outlook is not connected to its mail server.
    • Also open the Outlook menu and ensure Work Offline is not selected. ^2^

    2. If this is not a Microsoft-hosted mailbox

A Microsoft 365 subscription licenses the Outlook application, but the email account itself may be hosted by another provider. This commonly applies to addresses supplied by an internet provider, website host, employer, or custom domain.

If Outlook selects the wrong provider:

    1. Select Tools > Accounts > + Add Account.
    2. Enter the email address and select Continue.
    3. At the top of the setup window, select Not [provider name]?
    4. Choose the correct provider or IMAP.
    5. Sign in using the email provider’s password, which may differ from the Microsoft account password used to activate Microsoft 365. ^3^

Obtain the incoming IMAP server, outgoing SMTP server, ports, encryption type, and username from that email provider; these values cannot be determined from the Microsoft 365 subscription alone. Incorrect credentials or server settings can prevent mail from being received. ^4^

    3. If the account connects but messages still do not appear

First, sign in to the mailbox through its webmail page:

    • Messages appear in webmail: the mailbox is working, so the problem is local to Outlook.
    • Messages do not appear there either: contact the email provider, because Outlook cannot download messages that have not reached the server.

For a connected Microsoft 365 or Exchange account, rebuild the affected folder’s cache:

Caution: Emptying the cache deletes information that has not synchronized with the Exchange server. Back up any local-only Outlook information first.

    1. In Outlook’s navigation pane, Control-click or right-click the affected folder, such as Inbox.
    2. Select Properties.
    3. On the General tab, select Empty Cache.
    4. Leave Outlook open while it downloads the folder again from Exchange. ^2^

Do not use this cache procedure for a POP or IMAP account; instead, verify that account’s credentials and server settings with its provider.

If these steps do not resolve it, the useful details for the next diagnosis are:

    • The part after @ in the email address, without posting the full address.
    • Whether mail works in webmail or on the old computer.
    • Any exact error shown under Tools > Accounts.
    • Whether Outlook identifies the account as Microsoft 365/Exchange, IMAP, or POP.
