I'm locked out of my personal Hotmail account. I accidentally entered incorrect passwords, then I received a 30-day security restriction while trying to recover it. I need help understanding the restriction and recovering access to my personal email.

    Hi Stryker Sessions,

I understand how concerning it can be to lose access to a personal email account.

A 30-day restriction is generally associated with a pending replacement of the account’s security information, rather than with incorrect password attempts alone. To identify the correct recovery path, could you share the exact message displayed when you try to sign in? For example, does it say “Your security info change is still pending,” or does it show a different account-locked message?

Please do not post your email address, phone number, password, verification codes, or recovery details in this public forum.

In the meantime, you can use the official Microsoft Sign-in Helper. Enter the affected Hotmail address and follow the recovery option presented for that account. If the security information replacement was initiated by you and you no longer have access to the previous verification methods, the 30-day waiting period generally cannot be shortened or bypassed by forum contributors or Microsoft Support. Thank you so much for your understanding.
