Hello, I am paying for game pass. I’m trying to understand the charge for $97 in regards to call of duty on today. I would’ve thought it was covered under my monthly subscription. Could someone help me please?

    Hello,

Not every Call of Duty game is included with Xbox Game Pass.

For example, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, must be purchased separately, even if you have Game Pass Ultimate.

You can read the official announcement here:

Can you find out, though, what the exact name is for the $97 charge?

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and sign in.

Find the $97 transaction from today.

Check the exact product name and whether it was a game purchase, preorder, or additional content.

A Game Pass subscription does not mean every game or add-on is included at no extra cost. A separate charge can happen for these common reasons:

    1. It was a separate purchase of the game, edition, bundle, or add-on.
    2. An in-app purchase was made. Microsoft states that apps and games can charge in-app purchases to the payment method on the Microsoft account.
    3. Recurring billing or another subscription charge is active.
    4. Another account or family member used the same card.

To verify what the $97 charge was for:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account order history and look for a purchase today that matches the amount.
    2. Go to Services & subscriptions and check whether there is any separate subscription or purchase related to Call of Duty or Game Pass.
    3. If the charge is not recognized, go to Manage your payments and select Investigate.

If the charge does not appear in the Microsoft account order history, Microsoft indicates the card may be associated with another Microsoft account using the same payment method.

If the charge is unauthorized, contact the bank or payment provider to help prevent more charges. If a chargeback is being considered, Microsoft notes that repeated misuse of chargebacks can be considered fraud.

If more help is needed, use Contact Support from Microsoft Support and choose billing help.
