I appear to be subscribed to both and don't know which one to keep.

Document 365 focuses primarily on working with PDFs. It allows users to edit, annotate, sign, combine, split, convert, and manage PDF files. It is available for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

Microsoft 365 is a broader productivity subscription that includes applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with OneDrive storage and other benefits depending on the subscription.

If you primarily create Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and manage email, Microsoft 365 is likely sufficient.

If you regularly need advanced PDF editing, such as modifying existing PDF text, reorganizing pages, or converting scanned PDFs using OCR, Document 365 may provide additional value.

Document 365 Annual Plan and Microsoft 365 Personal are separate subscriptions: Document 365 is KDAN’s PDF/document service, while Microsoft 365 Personal provides Microsoft productivity apps and OneDrive storage. ^1^ [^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Premium, and Pro subscription benefits")

    Which one should you keep?

    • Keep Microsoft 365 Personal if you use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft 365’s AI-powered features, or the included 1 TB of OneDrive storage.
    • Keep Document 365 only if you need KDAN’s specialized PDF/document tools.
    • Keep both only if you need both Microsoft’s productivity suite and KDAN’s separate PDF features. One does not replace the other.

For most people who mainly create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, use Outlook, and store files in OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Personal is the more broadly useful plan. Document 365 is an additional specialized service, not another Microsoft 365 plan.

    Verify both subscriptions before cancelling

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Services & subscriptions using every Microsoft account you may have used: https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Locate Microsoft 365 Personal and note its next charge or expiry date. A circular-arrow symbol means recurring billing is enabled; Expires on means renewal is already disabled. [^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "What happens when your Microsoft 365 subscription expires | Microsoft Support")
    3. Check whether Document 365 appears there.
      • If it does not, check the purchase receipt, card statement descriptor, Apple subscriptions, Google Play subscriptions, or the KDAN account used to buy it.
      • Microsoft-managed subscriptions show options such as Manage, Cancel, or Change payment. Subscriptions bought from Apple, Google, Amazon, or another retailer must be managed through that seller. Cancel the unwanted plan

For Microsoft 365 Personal purchased directly from Microsoft:

    1. Open Services & subscriptions.
    2. Find Microsoft 365 Personal and select Manage.
    3. Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel, then complete the prompts.
    4. If the page instead shows Turn on recurring billing, renewal is already off and the subscription will expire on the displayed date. [^5^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft 365")

Before cancelling Microsoft 365 Personal, check OneDrive and Outlook storage usage. When Personal expires, the allowance reverts to 5 GB of cloud storage and 15 GB of Outlook.com storage; exceeding those allowances can prevent OneDrive synchronization and Outlook.com email sending or receiving. [^5^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft 365")

    For Document 365:

Cancel it through the seller shown on the receipt or card charge—normally KDAN, Apple App Store, Google Play, or another retailer. Microsoft cannot cancel or refund a third-party subscription. [^4^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Where can I manage my Microsoft 365 subscription? | Microsoft Support")

For a recent charge, request any refund from the same seller. For a Microsoft 365 subscription bought directly from Microsoft, cancellation must be started first to determine refund eligibility; a refund is not guaranteed.
