I need to correct my middle name in my Microsoft Certification Profile before scheduling a Pearson VUE exam. The Learn profile directs me to Credential Support, which then redirects me to Engage Center. However, I cannot sign in to Engage Center. The sign-in fails with the error: "PortalAuthHandler.unknownError".
The same Microsoft account works correctly with Microsoft Learn and other Microsoft services. It's a personal Microsoft account and I've tried different browser (incognito/inprivate) and even another computer, all with the same result.
On the "Sign-In failed" page, there's is a self diagnostics option. All checks have succeded, but still i'm unable tot sign-in.
Could you please advise an alternative way to submit a legal name change request or help resolve the Engage Center sign-in issue?

oguzhan aydin 0 Reputation points2026-10-17T21:49:56.4666667+00:00 I had a similar issue getting stuck on the sign-in redirect loop while trying to access the Engage Center. In my case, clearing the browser cache/cookies or using an InPrivate/Incognito window with a fresh session resolved the authentication handoff error.

All the links and different routes I've tried, in the end, the all seem to lead to Engage Center. The sign-in fails with the error: "PortalAuthHandler.unknownError".

I experienced the same thing for a few days, but eventually it started working again. No idea why?
