A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Since the printer works in other apps and over Wi‑Fi, this is likely a Word/Office-side printing issue rather than a Windows connection problem.
Try these steps in order:
- Confirm Word is using the correct printer
- In Word, go to File > Print.
- Make sure the Epson printer is selected.
- Check that it shows as Ready.
- Make sure Print to PDF or Print to file is not selected.
- Test whether the issue is document-specific
- Try printing a different Word document.
- Also try printing from another app such as Notepad or Paint.
- If other apps print but Word does not, continue with the Office repair step.
- Print a Windows test page
- Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the Epson printer > Manage > Printer properties.
- On the General tab, select Print Test Page.
- If the test page prints, Windows can communicate with the printer.
- Repair Microsoft 365 / Office
- Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office > Modify.
- Run Quick Repair first, then test printing from Word.
- If Word still says no printer is installed, run Online Repair.
- Update Office
- In a Microsoft 365 app, go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
- Restart the Print Spooler again
- Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Print Spooler.
- Right-click it and select Restart.
- Update or reinstall the printer driver
- Go to Start > Device Manager.
- Expand Printers.
- Right-click the Epson printer and select Update driver.
- If no update is found, select Uninstall device, then restart the PC so Windows can try to reinstall it automatically.
- Restart Word and the PC
- Close Word completely.
- Restart the PC.
- Open Word and test printing again.
- Run the Windows printer troubleshooter
- Open Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the printer > More devices and printer settings.
- Right-click the printer and select Troubleshoot.
If Word still reports no printer installed after the Office repair and driver reinstall, the most relevant supported fix is the Office repair path, because the printer already works in other applications.
