    Hello,

If you are currently part of a Microsoft Family Safety group at https://account.microsoft.com/family/home and another account is listed as the organizer and your profile’s date of birth was changed, your account may now be recognized as a child account and subject to Family Safety restrictions.

Ask the family organizer either to correct the date of birth on your profile so that your account is no longer recognized as belonging to a child or minor, or to remove your account from the family group.

If you are no longer part of the family group, you may be able to correct the date of birth by joining a Family Safety group managed by an adult account that you own.

Therefore, you will need the family organizer’s assistance to help with this.

If the account is marked as an adult account, it can remove itself from the family group.

    1. Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family/
    2. Select the More menu next to the account name.
    3. Select Leave family group.
    4. Select Remove to confirm.

If Leave family group does not appear, that account is not an organizer, and only an organizer can add or remove people from the family group.

If the account is being treated as a child account, only an organizer can remove it from the family group. If consent was originally granted by another adult or another Microsoft account, only that original adult can manage consent. If that adult cannot access the account, the adult or appropriate guardian should try to recover that adult account.

For the sign-in problem and password issue:

    1. Use Recover your account and enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in.
    2. Choose where to receive the security code.
    3. Enter the requested information and select Send code.
    4. Enter the code in Verify your identity.
    5. Set a new password.

Also verify the sign-in name carefully, including the correct domain such as .com or .co.uk, and try any other alias or phone number on the account if the email is not recognized.

If the username is still not found or sign-in still fails, use Contact Support. Support can route the issue, but support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.

Important: leaving or being removed from a family group causes loss of access to shared products and services from that group, such as Microsoft 365 Family.
