Dear Microsoft Windows SDK Support Team,

We are preparing a controlled Windows build environment for 609 Blaze Business and need Microsoft's supported procedure for authenticating retained Windows SDK Signing Tools components before using them as verification tools.

Microsoft's SDK downloads page lists Windows SDK 10.0.28000.2957. Our bounded review of official documentation found general signature and catalog verification methods, but did not establish authenticated exact-artifact binding for our locally retained MSI, catalog candidates and x64 SignTool. We are not asserting that the files are invalid or that no supplier records exist.

Our preserved local evidence identifies an AMD64 signtool.exe (551,368 bytes), with product version 10.0.28000.2957 and file version 4.00 (WinBuild.160101.0800). The cached package filename is Windows SDK Signing Tools-x86_en-us.msi. Its filename alone does not establish its internal version or x64 payload coverage. The three catalog files below are candidates only; their association and membership have not been cryptographically verified.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Does Microsoft provide an authenticated supplier manifest, package identity or verification receipt for the exact 10.0.28000.2957 Signing Tools distribution, including authoritative artifact hashes? How should that record itself be authenticated?
  2. What supported method independently authenticates the cached Signing Tools MSI, including any external cabinets, patches or transforms needed to establish payload coverage?
  3. How can we establish the exact MSI-to-catalog relationship, and which catalog or other signed record covers the exact x64 SignTool and its relevant dependencies?
  4. How should exact catalog membership and certificate-chain trust be verified using an independently authenticated verifier? Please identify supported verifier acquisition/authentication procedures, trust prerequisites, applicable policies and expected evidence, without relying solely on the SignTool under assessment to authenticate itself.
  5. Which supported procedures can operate offline? What pre-established roots, intermediates, timestamps and cached revocation evidence are required, and which conclusions remain unavailable when revocation data is missing or stale?
  6. Please distinguish SDK-supplied dependencies from Windows-provided components and identify any separate manifests or catalogs needed for their authentication. We do not assume that adjacent DLLs are the actual runtime providers.

Preserved artifact identities (whole-file SHA-256; local identity evidence, not supplier authentication):

We understand that a matching filename or local hash is not catalog membership, and that signature validity, certificate-chain trust and current revocation status are separate questions. We are requesting documented authentication guidance, not installation, remote access or release approval.
