Submit an eligibility-review request through the dedicated Azure for Students support form at https://aka.ms/azureforstudentssupport instead of the Azure Portal support search, which may not work before a subscription exists.^1^
Information to include
Provide:
- The exact messages: “You do not have access” and “account cannot be validated.”
- The Microsoft account used during activation.
- Your institutional email address and school name/domain.
- Confirmation that the GitHub Student Developer Pack is approved.
- The session ID shown on the failed activation page.
- The approximate date/time of the latest attempt and your country/region.
- A screenshot of the error and GitHub approval page, with unrelated personal information hidden.
- A request to check for:
- A previous Azure for Students eligibility or redemption record under another Microsoft identity.
- A blocked or unrecognized academic domain.
- An account state requiring a manual eligibility reset.
A suitable description is:
Azure for Students activation fails after my GitHub Student Developer Pack verification. The signup page reports “You do not have access” and says that my account cannot be validated. Please perform a manual eligibility review and check whether my academic identity, school domain, or a previous redemption record is blocking activation. The session ID and screenshots are attached.
GitHub approval does not itself establish Azure eligibility because the GitHub and Azure verification processes are separate.^2^
Eligibility checks before submitting
Azure for Students requires that you:
- Are at least 18.
- Attend an accredited, degree-granting two-year or four-year institution as a full-time student.
- Verify academic status using your institution’s email address.
- Have no more than one Azure for Students subscription as an eligible customer.^3^
If those conditions are satisfied, state that explicitly in the request. Also mention whether the Microsoft account has ever held an Azure for Students subscription, including under a different alias. Microsoft documents the offer as limited to one subscription per eligible customer.^4^
If the dedicated form does not submit
Use Microsoft’s public support page, select Personal account or Microsoft technical support, enter Azure for Students eligibility review, and continue to Contact Support if offered.^5^
Do not post the session ID, academic documents, or account details publicly in Microsoft Q&A; provide them only through the private support request.
