A program that grants points for using Bing search, which users can redeem for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, or charitable donations.
Common reasons Microsoft Rewards redemption stops working are:
- Phone verification issues
- Entering the wrong verification code can trigger a 48-hour wait after too many failed attempts.
- A phone number can only be associated with a limited number of Microsoft Rewards accounts, with a maximum of 6 accounts per household.
- VoIP numbers are not allowed. A mobile or landline number is required.
- Region or travel mismatch
- Rewards points must be redeemed in the same region where the account was signed up.
- Redemption can fail while traveling or if a VPN or proxy is being used.
- Order or account policy issues
- Orders may be cancelled if redemption is attempted in multiple regions, with a VPN, or with a VoIP number.
- Using multiple accounts, inaccurate account information, IP-masking services, bots, macros, emulators, or earning/redeeming across countries can cause account restrictions or loss of redemption ability.
- Reward availability
- Some gift cards are not always available and may be out of stock or unavailable.
What to check:
- Sign in to the Rewards page and review Redeem > Order history to see the order Status.
- If redeeming by phone verification, use a non-VoIP mobile or landline number and confirm the code exactly.
- Make sure redemption is being done in the home region for the account, without a VPN or proxy.
- If QR verification is offered, use Verify with the Bing app on the Rewards website instead of SMS.
- If QR verification fails, update the browser and OS, clear browser cache and cookies, temporarily turn off VPNs/proxies/security software, and try a different browser, device, or network.
- If the reward is missing, check the Redeem page again later.
- If the issue continues, use Microsoft Rewards Support: https://rewards.bing.com/support.
