The EULA for Access 365 Runtime includes the following statement:

Right to Use and Distribute. The code and text files listed below are “Distributable Code.”

  • OTHER-DIST.TXT Files. You may copy and distribute the object code form of code listed in OTHER-DIST.TXT files.

I would like to confirm which files are permitted for redistribution.

Where can I find the OTHER-DIST.TXT file referenced in the EULA for Access 365 Runtime?

I found the relevant section of the Access Runtime EULA on my backup computer.

    In English, it refers to:

ADDITIONAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS AND/OR USE RIGHTS.

    a. Distributable Code. The software contains code that you are permitted to distribute in programs you develop if you comply with the terms below.

    i. Right to Use and Distribute. The code and text files listed below are “Distributable Code.”

    • REDIST.TXT Files. You may copy and distribute the object code form of code listed in REDIST.TXT files.

Note that is different from what you quoted, "OTHER-DIST.TXT Files."

Perhaps that will help you find what you need on your computer.

However, from my reading, it's going to simply be a list of the runtime component files that are installed with the runtime and nothing you need to be directly concerned with. Just have your users download and install the runtime, or include it in your distribution with the accdB/accdE files.

What problem are you trying to solve by identifying this group of text files?

The runtime allows you to use Access databases without purchasing a full license. You don't need to copy and distribute individual file for your users to run your databases with the Access runtime. You need to download and install the runtime on their computers, or have them do that themselves. You can include the runtime in an installation package with your Access accde files.

The term "OTHER-DIST.TXT files" appears to refer to more than one such text file, and if so, it would appear to be a general term for them, not the name of specific files. You'd have to search, therefore, by those specific files names.

But, if this is of concern to you, you should contact Microsoft support as suggested.

    Hi @Yuuko Matsuo (松尾 裕子)

I’ve reviewed the publicly available documentation for Microsoft 365 Access Runtime, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any Microsoft documentation specifying where the OTHER-DIST.TXT file referenced in the EULA is located or providing its contents.

Since this is a user-to-user support forum, I’m not a Microsoft representative and don’t have access to Microsoft’s internal systems or documentation to verify the exact location of this file.

In this case, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance, as they may be able to provide more information about this file.

-If you're using a personal Microsoft account, you can contact Microsoft Support through Contact - Microsoft Support.

-If you have a Microsoft 365 business subscription and hold the Global Administrator role, you can submit a support request directly through the Microsoft 365 admin center. Otherwise, please contact your IT administrator to submit a support ticket on your behalf. For more information, see Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction!
