Bluetooth headphones not working on ASUS Windows 11 laptop

Hello Microsoft Support Team,

I am experiencing a recurring Bluetooth issue with my ASUS Windows 11 laptop and Soundcore Space One headphones.

The headphones sometimes connect but produce no sound. Other times, they do not appear in the Bluetooth device list at all.

I have already tried:

  1. Removing and pairing the headphones again.
  2. Restarting my laptop.
  3. Running the Windows Bluetooth troubleshooter.
  4. Performing a cold reboot by holding the power button for 10 seconds and waiting 30 seconds.

The cold reboot temporarily fixed the problem, but the same issue keeps returning.

My Soundcore Space One headphones work perfectly with my phone.

Could someone please help me identify the root cause and provide a permanent solution?

Thank you.

    Hi Thameem Eshaal,

Thank you for detailing everything you've tested. Since the Soundcore headphones work with your phone, another useful step is to determine whether the behavior affects other Bluetooth audio devices on the laptop as well.

If possible, connect another Bluetooth headset or speaker and test it through a restart and normal use.

    • If multiple Bluetooth audio devices show the same behavior, focus further investigation on the laptop/Windows Bluetooth environment.
    • If only the Soundcore headphones are affected, checking with Soundcore support for firmware or model-specific compatibility guidance would be worthwhile.

I hope this helps narrow the issue. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

Since re-pairing, restarting, and the Bluetooth troubleshooter were already tried, the most likely remaining causes are an outdated or incompatible Bluetooth driver, temporary Bluetooth service issues, or Windows selecting the wrong audio path after connection.

    Try this order:

    1. Confirm the headphones are selected as the audio output
      • Select the Sound icon on the taskbar.
      • Make sure the Soundcore headphones are selected as the output device.
      • Also go to Start > Settings > System > Sound and confirm the headphones are selected under Output.
    2. If the headphones connect but have no sound, set the audio format
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
      • Select the headphones, then select Advanced sound properties.
      • Under Output settings, set Format to 2 channels, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).
      • This option appears only while the Bluetooth device is connected.
    3. Remove and add the headphones again
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Find the headphones, select More options (...) > Remove device.
      • Select Add device and pair them again.
      • Since this was already done, use it here only after the driver and service checks below if the issue returns.
    4. Update the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager
      • Select Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
      • Restart the laptop if prompted.
      • If Windows does not find a newer driver, install the Bluetooth driver for the exact ASUS laptop model from the ASUS support site. A manufacturer-specific driver can resolve repeated connect/disconnect and missing-device issues better than a generic Windows driver.
    5. Check for Windows updates
      • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      • Select Check for updates and install all available updates.
    6. Restart the Bluetooth Support Service
      • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, then select OK.
      • Find Bluetooth Support Service.
      • Right-click it and select Restart.
    7. If the headphones disappear or disconnect repeatedly, disable Bluetooth power saving
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth device and open Properties.
      • On the Power Management tab, clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
      • This is especially relevant because a cold reboot helped only temporarily, which often points to a driver or power-management problem rather than a headphone fault.
    8. Turn Bluetooth off and back on
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
    9. Restart the PC after changes
      • Select Start > Power > Restart.

The strongest root-cause indicator here is that the headphones work normally with the phone and the laptop issue returns after a temporary fix. That points to the Windows Bluetooth stack, driver, or power management on the ASUS laptop rather than the headphones themselves.
