word is erratic (macOS)

Letters and words will jump to other areas of the document. I saved the document and closed Microsoft but the problem was still there on restart. I only have the problem in this document. I on a MacBook Air.

    Since the problem is only with one document, please try the following:

    1. On the Home tab, click on the backwards P icon to show the hidden formatting characters.
    2. Select all content except the last paragraph mark (looks like a backwards P). Copy the content.
    3. Create a new blank document. Paste the content, then save the file with a new name.

    Check to see whether the jumping has ceased.
