My New Outlook in my work office account is missing the poll icon under the insert tab.

I need to provide a poll to a large number of people. I wrote an email and searched for the poll icon under insert. There is a scheduling poll but not a general poll. Please assist.

Thank you,

    Hi Gina,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I understand that the Poll feature for creating polls in your email has disappeared.

Please help me check the following:

1/Please check whether the Poll feature appears under Apps.

    User's image

2/Please check whether this feature appears again when you use Outlook on the web.

If you have tried the two steps above but still cannot find the Poll feature, it is possible that your tenant administrator has disabled or restricted the feature that allows users to create polls via email.

In this case, you will need to contact your organization's administrator, which could be your IT department or the person who provided your account, and check whether they have disabled or restricted this feature.

I hope this information is helpful.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

For New Outlook, the general Poll feature should be available from a new email message under Message or Insert > Polls.

If only Scheduling Poll appears and the general Polls command is missing, check these supported requirements first:

    1. Account type Creating a Poll in Outlook is available only with a work or school account. It is not supported with Outlook.com personal accounts or third-party accounts.
    2. Admin setting The Microsoft 365 admin must enable Send a link to the form and collect responses under External sharing in the Microsoft 365 admin center for Microsoft Forms.
    3. Use the direct Forms workaround If the Poll command still does not appear, create the poll directly in Microsoft Forms:
      • Go to https://forms.office.com/
      • Sign in with the work account
      • Select New Form
      • Add the question and answer choices
      • Select Collect Responses
      • Copy the link into the email, or use the invitation option
    4. If the issue is Outlook-specific There was a known issue where adding a Poll from Outlook failed because of authentication handling, and Microsoft marked it fixed on August 1, 2023. If the Outlook command is still unavailable or not working, using Forms directly is the supported alternate method.

Also note that Scheduling Poll is a different feature used for choosing meeting times. It is not the same as the general email poll feature.
