I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11 yesterday and have successfully downloaded my Family Office 365 apps. I use Copilot a lot but when I try to use the version downloaded, I get the message "This version of Windows Copilot is no longer supported. Please follow this link and download the latest version from the Microsoft Store:

Microsoft Copilot – Download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store"

I have tried:
1 downloading it from the Store app and from the website. Each time, the installation errors and directs me to https://support.microsoft.com/edge/troubleshooting-tips-for-downloading-installing-and-updating-microsoft-edge which doesn't cover this issue.
2 using the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter but Copilot isn't in the list of apps. I have tried right clicking on the Microsoft Copilot on Windows Installer application but it takes me to the list of apps again and doesn't work.

3 I have checked for Windows Updates and there are none.
4 I have checked for Edge updates and there are none.

5 I tried uninstalling the current Copilot app and then trying to use the installer for the new version and it downloaded Copilot, but the legacy version so I'm back to square one.

I use Copilot a lot so this is really frustrating. Please help.

Thanks for trying. Please try this alternative official Copilot app listing, which supports your Microsoft 365 Family account:

https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9WZDNCRD29V9

Select Install (or Open if already installed) >> sign in with your usual Microsoft account >> select Chat.

I followed the steps but get the same error message. The 'Help' button takes me to the same page.Screenshot 2026-10-15 144909

Since the installer points to an Edge error, try repairing Edge:

    Settings >> Apps >> Installed apps >> Microsoft Edge >> … >> Modify >> Repair

Then restart your laptop and try installing Copilot from Microsoft Store again.

For now, you can use https://www.copilot.com with the same account. If installation still fails, please share a screenshot of the installation error.
