Managing security settings and protections in Outlook on the web for business
Based on what you've described, one possible explanation is that SNDS (Smart Network Data Services) only reports traffic delivered to Microsoft's consumer email services, such as Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, and MSN.com.
If most or all of the approximately 50,000 emails you've sent over the last 10 days were delivered to Microsoft 365 business domains, it would be expected for the SNDS "View Data" page to remain empty.
It's also worth noting that SNDS data is not updated in real time. Microsoft processes and publishes SNDS statistics once per day on a Pacific Time schedule, so activity from the previous day may not appear until after the next aggregation cycle has completed.
To verify that everything is working correctly, you could try the following:
- Send a test message through your Marketing Cloud route to a real Outlook.com or Hotmail.com mailbox.
- After the message is delivered, open the message headers/source and confirm that the IP address shown in the "Received from" line matches the IP address you registered in SNDS.
- Wait until the next daily SNDS update cycle and then check View Data again.
- If the message headers show a different outbound (egress) IP than the one currently registered in SNDS, add the actual sending IP shown in the headers to SNDS and use that IP for future monitoring.
Could you also confirm whether your recent mailings were primarily sent to Outlook.com/Hotmail recipients, or were they mostly sent to Microsoft 365 business tenants?
Thank you for your patience and understanding. I hope this information will be useful to you.
