Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Reset the Microsoft 365 business email password through the Microsoft Online password-reset page using the account’s previously registered security information.
Reset the password
- Open https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/.
- Enter the full business email address.
- Complete the CAPTCHA and select Next.
- Choose an available verification method, such as Microsoft Authenticator, text message, phone call, or alternate email.
- Complete the verification and create a new, strong password.
Self-service password reset works only if the organization’s administrator enabled it and the account previously registered an authentication method.^1^
If the page says “Contact your administrator”
The company’s Microsoft 365 administrator must reset the password. Contact:
- The organization’s internal IT/help desk.
- The business owner or co-owner.
- The IT consultant who manages the company’s email.
- The person who originally supplied the account details.
Microsoft does not maintain public contact details for each organization’s administrator.^2^
If the administrator is available, they can reset the account in:
- Microsoft Entra admin center → Entra ID → Users.
- Select the affected user.
- Select Reset password.
- Provide the generated temporary password securely.
- Sign in with that temporary password and create a new password.^3^
If this is the organization’s only administrator account and no administrator can sign in, contact Microsoft 365 business support for tenant recovery. Microsoft may require identity and domain-ownership verification.^4^
For privacy, remove or mask the email address from any public forum post.
