Hi Rorisang,
Don't worry, this is a very common mistake! Because the system currently thinks you are a minor (born in 2012), it legally locks your account and prevents you from changing your own age or leaving the family group by yourself.
The Independent Advisor above is completely correct, but here is a simplified, step-by-step breakdown of how to execute that workaround and unlock your account:
Step 1: Create a temporary "Parent" account
- Open a private/incognito browser window.
Go to account.microsoft.com and create a brand-new Microsoft account.
Crucial: Make sure to set the birth year of this new account to something before 2000 so the system recognizes it as an Adult.
Step 2: Add your "Child" account to the new Parent's family
Log into family.microsoft.com using your new Parent account.
Click "Add a family member" and enter your original (Child) email address.
Log into your original Child account, accept the invitation, and when prompted, select the option that a parent will give consent. Log back in with the Parent account to grant that consent.
Step 3: Change your birthdate
Log back into family.microsoft.com with the Parent account.
Click on the three dots next to your Child account's name and select "Manage consent".
Click on "Edit this child's personal info".
Change the birthdate to your real age and save the changes.
Step 4: Leave the family group
Now that your original account is officially registered as an Adult, the restrictions will be lifted.
You can now go to your Family Safety dashboard and safely select "Leave family group".
Your school websites will no longer be blocked once this is done!
