Hello,

I'm looking for help recovering access to our Microsoft 365 organisation.

I'm completely locked out because Microsoft Authenticator is greyed out/inactive. When I try to sign in, Microsoft asks me to approve a notification in Authenticator, but no notification arrives and I can't approve the request. The account is listed in the app, but it appears inactive.

I've tried refreshing the app, restarting the sign-in process and selecting “I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now”, but this simply sends me back to the same approval screen.

I've also contacted Microsoft Support by phone. They sent me a recovery link, but when I followed it, I was told that I wasn't an administrator, despite this being the account I created to administer our organisation.

I cannot access the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre or Microsoft Entra admin centre to reset my authentication methods, and there is no other administrator who can help.

Please could someone advise how I can recover access to our existing tenant? I need this escalated to the appropriate Data Protection or Tenant Recovery team so that my identity and ownership of the organisation can be verified and my MFA registration reset.

I can provide evidence of our organisation's identity and Microsoft 365 setup through an appropriate secure channel.

Thank you for any help. I'm going round in circles with the standard recovery process and would really appreciate a practical route to regaining access.
