    Hi Tamaria Scott,

Based on my research, the meeting transcription feature does not appear to be available in Teams for personal use. However, live captions are available during meetings and calls. Please refer to the AI-generated answer below for more information.

As an alternative, you may find the following discussion helpful: Teams Transcribe - Microsoft Q&A

In that discussion, a workaround was suggested using the Transcribe feature in Word for the web to generate a transcript from an audio or video recording after the meeting. This is separate from Teams' built-in transcription feature, but it may be worth considering if it meets your needs.

For instructions, please see Transcribe your recordings in Word.

I hope this information is helpful.

For a regular Microsoft 365 Personal user, meeting transcription is not available in Teams personal use.

What is available for Teams personal use:

    • Live captions during meetings and calls
    • Captions can be shown or hidden from More actions > Language and speech > Show live captions
    • Accessibility options also include Always show captions in my meetings and Filter profane words in Live Captions

What is not available for personal use:

    • The Transcript option for meetings is available with a Teams Business account, not with Microsoft 365 Personal

AI-generated content may be incorrect. Read our transparency notes for more information.
