I want to understand a Microsoft charge on my bank account.

I see “Microsoftyearly PL” on my bank statement. Can this be my annual Best Buy Maintenance charge? I have had it for years, but it has never appeared as Microsoft.

Please answer.

“Microsoftyearly PL” is more likely a yearly Microsoft subscription than a Best Buy maintenance membership, but the statement description alone cannot identify it conclusively.

Microsoft 365 may have been purchased through Best Buy, but My Best Buy Total does not include Microsoft 365; they can be separate yearly charges.^1^

    Identify the charge

    1. Check Microsoft billing
      • Open Microsoft’s Manage your payments page.
      • Sign in with the Microsoft account you use for Microsoft 365.
      • Select Investigate beside the charge.
      • If you have other Microsoft accounts, check each one. Microsoft lists recurring subscriptions and purchases made by family members among the common reasons for unfamiliar charges.^2^
    2. Compare Microsoft order history
      • Go to Payment & billing → Order history.
      • Choose a date range covering the bank transaction.
      • Match the date and amount against entries marked Completed or Redeemed; an In progress item has not yet posted to the payment method.^3^
    3. Check Best Buy separately
      • Sign in to your Best Buy account and review memberships, subscriptions, Geek Squad services, and protection plans.
      • Compare their renewal dates and amounts with the bank transaction. Best Buy offers annual memberships, including My Best Buy Total.^4^
      • If necessary, ask Best Buy Support whether the amount is your longstanding maintenance plan.^5^

If neither account shows the charge

Contact Microsoft Support, enter Microsoft 365 or Billing, select Get Help, and then Contact Support.^2^

If Microsoft and Best Buy cannot identify it, contact the bank using the number printed on the card or statement. Ask for the transaction’s complete merchant details. If it was unauthorized, request that the bank block further charges and discuss replacing the card—not merely disputing this one transaction.

Do not post the full card number, bank-account details, or complete transaction reference in this public forum.

Hello, Please sign into your Microsoft account here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2246882 Can you find the charge matching the amount and date?

If you don't recognize the charge, you should find the Investigate charge option on the upper right to start the process, and select this charge to submit an investigation request to Microsoft billing support team.
