Why do I have to pay for Microsoft email? Also, why I I have to pay an annual or monthly subscription instead of just buying it one time and owning it?

    To help clarify what you are being charged for:

    1. Where are you seeing the request to pay: Outlook.com in a web browser, the Outlook desktop app, or somewhere else?
    2. What exact Microsoft product or subscription name does it show?
    3. If you sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/services do you see an active Microsoft 365 subscription listed?
