Additional sign-in or account-related issues within Microsoft Teams for business
If your account was added as a guest in another organization's Microsoft 365 or Teams, you can usually remove yourself from that organization without waiting for anyone:
- Sign in at https://myaccount.microsoft.com with the account that was invited. If it's a personal email, open it in a private browser window and add the tenant to the address, e.g.
https://myaccount.microsoft.com?tenantId=<their-domain>. - Select Organizations on the left (or Manage organizations).
- Under Other organizations you collaborate with, find the one you want to leave and select Leave, then confirm.
A couple of things to know. If there's no Leave button, that's your home organization (for example your own Specsavers work account), which you can't leave yourself. And if you get a message saying you need permission, that organization has turned off self-removal, so you'd need to ask their IT admin to remove the guest account.
After leaving, the guest account is soft-deleted for 30 days before it's permanently removed, so the organization can still restore it if you change your mind.
Is it Specsavers that invited you as a guest, or is your Specsavers account a guest in a different company's tenant?
If this resolved your issue, please consider accepting it as the answer. If the Leave option is missing or blocked, let me know and I'll be happy to keep helping.
