An Azure platform as a service offer that is used to deploy web and cloud applications.
A free Windows 11 Education key is available only if Ain Shams University participates in the applicable Microsoft education licensing program and your university identity is entitled; signing in to Azure alone does not guarantee a key.
1. Confirm the university’s entitlement
Contact the Faculty of Engineering IT department or Microsoft 365 administrator and ask them to verify:
- Whether Ain Shams University was already enrolled in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching.
- Which institutional account or email domain students must use.
- Whether Windows 11 Education is currently included for students.
- Whether students should access the benefit through Azure for Students or another university-managed licensing portal.
Microsoft’s published product list includes Windows 11 for Education under Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, but institutions must have the relevant Microsoft Volume Licensing agreement. The available documentation does not confirm whether Ain Shams University participates.^1^
After the August 15, 2025 access-policy change, students at institutions already participating in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching obtain their software benefits through the Azure for Students offer. Therefore, your Azure for Students eligibility failure may also prevent the Windows software entitlement from appearing.^2^
2. Resolve the Azure for Students eligibility result
Azure for Students requires you to:
- Be a full-time student at an accredited, degree-granting institution.
- Verify your academic status using your institution’s email address.
- Have no more than one Azure for Students subscription per eligible customer.^3^
Since you already signed in with your university account and received an ineligible result:
- Ask university IT to confirm that you are using the exact institutional identity recognized for Microsoft student benefits.
- Check whether you previously redeemed Azure for Students using another personal or university Microsoft identity.
- If the account is correct, create an Azure support request at
https://azure.microsoft.com/support/create-ticket/ - Request an Azure for Students eligibility review, specifically asking Support to check whether a previous eligibility or redemption record is associated with another Microsoft identity. Such records cannot be reviewed or changed through the Azure portal or Microsoft Community.^4^
Do not create additional Microsoft accounts to retry redemption; that can make it harder to identify an existing eligibility record.
3. Access the software after eligibility is confirmed
Sign in with the approved university account and open the Azure Education Hub software page:
https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_Azure_Education/EducationMenuBlade/software
If your account and institution are entitled, the available software will appear there. Windows 11 Education will appear only when it is included in the university’s entitlement; an Azure for Students subscription by itself does not guarantee a Windows product key.^2^
For Education Hub, Dev Tools, or program-specific sign-in problems, use the regional Plans Support page:
https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/institutions/Contact
Microsoft identifies this as the support route for signing in to, setting up, or using Azure Dev Tools for Teaching.^5^
