    Hi,

    What exactly is the problem?

You are on an Insider build, but

it's out of date. If it won't update,

then do a Repair Install first using:

    User's image

    And then check Windows Update

    to get the latest build.

The highlighted “Windows 11 Home Insider Preview… Evaluation copy” text is a normal Insider-build desktop watermark, not a pop-up or evidence of deleted Windows files; repair any actual Windows malfunctions separately with DISM and SFC. ^1^

    Repair the deleted Windows files

    1. Stop manually deleting anything under C:\Windows, C:\Program Files, or other Microsoft system folders.
    2. Search for Command Prompt, right-click it, and select Run as administrator.
    3. Run these commands in this order:
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    sfc /scannow

DISM repairs the Windows component store used as the repair source. SFC then scans protected system files and replaces missing or corrupted copies. Leave the window open until SFC reaches 100%. ^2^

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Test the feature that was producing the actual error or pop-up.

Interpret the SFC result as follows:

    • “Found corrupt files and successfully repaired them”: restart and test again.
    • “Did not find any integrity violations”: the current issue is not caused by protected system files.
    • “Could not perform the requested operation”: run SFC in Safe Mode.
    • “Found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them”: continue with the recovery options below.

    If the problem remains

    1. Use System Restore, if a restore point predates the deletion

    Open:

Settings → System → Recovery → Advanced startup → Restart now

    Then select:

Troubleshoot → Advanced options → System Restore

System Restore rolls back system files and settings without removing personal files. This option only works when a suitable restore point exists. ^3^

    2. Reset Windows using a fresh cloud copy

If there is no restore point, or the deleted files cannot be repaired:

    1. Back up documents, photos, browser data, and other important files.
    2. If device encryption is enabled, save the BitLocker recovery key.
    3. Open Settings → System → Recovery.
    4. Select Reset PC.
    5. Choose Keep my files.
    6. Choose Cloud download, not Local reinstall, because local Windows files may be missing or damaged.
    7. Follow the prompts without forcing a shutdown, even if the screen remains black for an extended period.

Keep my files preserves personal files but removes installed applications and settings. Cloud download obtains a fresh Windows copy instead of relying on the potentially damaged local files. ^4^

The watermark itself may remain after repair because it belongs to the Insider Preview build. Do not use watermark-removal utilities or delete additional system files to remove it.
