When I logged in to my partner account and tried to enroll in the partner program, it said that my Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program registration had been deactivated. How do I get this problem fixed? I want to market my business as a Managed IT Service Provider to small businesses and sell Microsoft 365 subscriptions to them.

A deactivated Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program registration must first be restored through Partner Center account verification or Partner Center Support; creating another enrollment will not resolve the existing account status.

    1. Identify the account status and required action

Sign in with the organization’s work account, then open:

Partner Center → Settings (gear) → Account settings → Legal info → Partner → Program info

Check both the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program status and Verification Summary. Partner Center defines the relevant verification states as:

    • Authorized: verification is complete.
    • Pending: Microsoft is still reviewing it.
    • Rejected: verification failed; an appeal might be available.
    • A detailed status of Pending Partner Action means Microsoft needs more information from you. ^1^

    2. Resolve a failed or rejected verification

If Verification Summary displays Resolve, User Action Needed, or Fix now:

    1. Select that button.
    2. Review which verification check failed.
    3. Upload official documents that exactly match the Partner Center record:
      • Certificate/articles of incorporation, business registration, or business licence for business verification.
      • Registrar-issued records showing the business name, domain, dates, and address for domain verification.
    4. Add a concise explanation and submit the appeal.
    5. Monitor Account settings → Legal info for the outcome.

Screenshots, self-written statements, and unofficial documents aren't accepted. Appeals can be submitted up to three times and require an eligible role such as Global admin, Compliance admin, or the MAICPP-specific Account admin role. ^2^

If the legal name or address is wrong, correct it before submitting supporting documents:

    • Legacy experience: Account settings → Legal info → legal business profile → Update
    • New experience: Account settings → Account management → Partner locations for Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program → select profile → Update

Submitting a change triggers reassessment of the changed information. ^3^

    3. If no appeal or corrective action is offered

If the page only says Deactivated, or it shows Authorized while enrollment remains deactivated, submit a Partner Center support request:

    1. In Partner Center, select the AI assistant icon in the upper-right.
    2. Describe the issue as:
“Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program registration deactivated; request account-status review and reactivation.”
    3. Select Contact Support.
    4. Choose the relevant account/enrollment workspace and problem type.
    5. Select Review solutions → Create support request.
    6. Include:
      • Partner ID and affected location Partner ID
      • Legal business name and country/region
      • Exact status shown under Legal info
      • Screenshot of the deactivation message
      • Any verification or previous support-reference number

If AI assistant isn't available, select Help (?) → Contact Support → Create support request. Microsoft may perform an identity security check when support first contacts you. ^4^

If the account is marked Suspended rather than deactivated, also check that the partner profile is complete and, where applicable, that no CSP invoice is overdue. Once those issues are cleared, submit a support request to remove the suspension. ^5^

    4. Enroll to resell Microsoft 365 after reactivation

MAICPP membership alone does not establish the reseller transaction path. To sell Microsoft 365 subscriptions, the usual small-provider route is enrollment as a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) indirect reseller, working with a distributor.

Before CSP indirect-reseller enrollment, the organization needs:

    • Active MAICPP enrollment with vetting Authorized
    • A legal-entity Location Partner ID matching the CSP country/region
    • A supported business-domain email address
    • A user with Global Administrator permissions
    • Authority to accept legal agreements

After verification is authorized, a Global Administrator accepts the Microsoft Partner Agreement, then the reseller connects with a distributor. The distributor handles Microsoft billing and enables ordering and provisioning; the reseller owns the customer relationship. An active distributor relationship is required before transacting. ^6^

Do not begin this CSP enrollment until Legal info shows the MAICPP enrollment as Active and vetting as Authorized.
