Office 2013 is such an old version that you may not be able to redeem the product key in the way you would do with current one-time payment licenses. Instead, you have to use the product key and often also the original installation disc to install.

Note that if you already managed to redeem the key and it is associated with an account, use that account to install on a new PC.

If you need assistance with activation, go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/activation/activate-microsoft-perpetual-products-using-the-product-activation-portal .

    Hello Jean Luckner Jean Luckner,

An Office product key can normally be redeemed only once. If this key was used on the old laptop, you should not try to redeem it again. Instead, reinstall Office through the Microsoft account originally linked to it.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

    1. Sign in to the Services & subscriptions page using every Microsoft account you may have used with Office 2013. If Office Home & Student 2013 appears, select the available install option.
    2. If the license is not listed, check whether Office originally came on a disc or with installation media. Older Office 2013 purchases may require both the original installer and product key.

If installation succeeds but activation says the license is already used on another device, please let me know whether Office was purchased separately as a retail copy or came preinstalled with the old laptop.

Please note that Office 2013 reached end of support in April 2023 and no longer receives security updates. If it cannot be reinstalled or reactivated, moving to a supported Office version would be the safer option.
