Launching Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Every time I open the new MS Edge, it defaults to the maximized screen, and I have to turn the Maximized setting off. It not only does that with Edge, but also with all the apps I have made through Edge to open specific websites. If someone actually likes that format and wants it, that is fine, but give an option to allow Edge to open in full screen and even in a window. Don't try to make me conform to your train of thought just because you are right and I am wrong. Let me be wrong and happy being wrong, and me controlling how apps appear on my PC. I have to constantly upgrade to stay current, but if I stay current with patches, I get into apps changing and not always for my betterment. I might come around to using Edge in Maximized setting only someday; let me make that choice. Don't take it away from me by making it the only option. Granted, it is not that hard to turn it off, but it is like having to put wheels on your car every time you need to go to the store.
Launching Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
Microsoft did not make any changes to Edge that would cause it to open in a maximized window.
1
Restart (not shut down) your PC to flush out your RAM.
Open Edge, and resize Edge to your preferred size.
Press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while clicking the X button to close Edge.
Then open Edge again to test if it opens to your preferred size.
2
If that does not resolve the problem, if you are opening Edge from a Desktop shortcut, right click that shortcut and select Properties.
Copy all the text from the Target box on the Properties dialog box and please paste that into your next reply.
