This usually means Outlook or Office is signed in with a different Microsoft account than the one being checked on the subscription page, or the subscription is managed by a third party.
Try this:
- Go to the Microsoft account subscriptions page at
account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the exact Microsoft account used in Outlook.
- Check whether a Microsoft 365 subscription appears there.
- If Manage, Cancel, or Change payment appears, the subscription is billed by Microsoft.
- If no subscription appears, the subscription may be tied to a different Microsoft account.
- If the subscription was bought through Apple, Google, Amazon, or another retailer, billing and renewal must be managed with that provider directly.
- If Outlook or Office shows an expiry notice but the subscription page still shows nothing, sign out of the Microsoft 365 apps and sign back in with the correct account. This can refresh the license and account status.
- If the notice says Renew your subscription or Subscription expired, selecting Buy or Reactivate in the app is the normal renewal path. If a retail product key was purchased, Enter Key may be required before the subscription starts.
- If renewal was already completed but the warning still appears, check the expiration date online first. If it does not look correct, contact Microsoft Support.
If Microsoft 365 expires, Office eventually goes into reduced functionality mode: documents can still be opened and printed, but not edited or created. In the meantime, Microsoft 365 for the web can be used at microsoft365.com or Office on the web at Office.com.
