Try these Windows touch troubleshooting steps in order:
- Reset the touch calibration. Search Windows for Calibrate screen for pen or touch input and reset or recalibrate the touch settings there.
- Restart the touchscreen driver. Open Device Manager > expand Human Interface Devices > right-click HID-compliant touch screen > Disable. Wait a few seconds, then Enable it again. If more than one HID-compliant touch screen entry is listed, repeat for each one.
- Reinstall the touchscreen driver. In Device Manager > Human Interface Devices, right-click HID-compliant touch screen > Uninstall. Then restart Windows so the driver is reinstalled automatically.
- Check for interference. If touch accuracy gets worse away from the center, test the board in a different room or with nearby electronics turned off one by one. Electronic interference can affect touch behavior.
- Install updates. Check Windows and device updates, then test calibration again.
If recalibration and driver reinstall do not fix edge tracking, the issue is likely with the board’s touch hardware or its digitizer alignment rather than Windows calibration alone.
