Hi Alon,
I have the new Feature Flag for
Search, it is Enabled, but my Search
does not look like what is shown
in the Blog image.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I’m on Windows 11 Pro Insider Experimental, build 26340.9616 (26H2).
I’m trying to test Microsoft’s new WinUI 3 Windows Search experience announced on October 7, 2026. Microsoft says this experience is rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel and that the “New Windows Search Experience” feature flag should become available after upgrading to build 26340.9616 and restarting.
On my PC, however, the “New Windows Search Experience” flag does not appear at all. I have checked for updates through Windows Update and restarted multiple times, but the flag is still not listed.
The Feature flags page is available and working, but the “New Windows Search Experience” flag is still not listed.
I’m trying to determine whether this is expected behavior for some users on build 26340.9616, or whether something on my installation is preventing the feature flag from being offered.
My main questions are:
Is the “New Windows Search Experience” feature flag expected to be missing for some users on build 26340.9616?
Is there any known reason why an otherwise eligible Experimental-channel installation would not receive the flag?
Could previous Windows feature configuration changes affect whether the flag is offered?
Are there any known troubleshooting steps for cases where the feature is not appearing in the Feature flags page?
I would appreciate confirmation from anyone running build 26340.9616 who has received the new Search experience or has seen the “New Windows Search Experience” flag appear.
