Lost workspace

Hi everyone,

I am a Microsoft Loop user (personal account). I had Loop opened as a desktop app with a specific page open. I then closed the page using the upper left cross button (see screenshot). Loop closed the page, however, it also deleted or hid the whole workspace. I can no longer see the workspace among the list of workspaces nor in the recent workspaces. What is odd is that I can search for pages that were once part of that workspace but they seem to be unlinked from it. The support person tried her best but said she does not have the tools to help me. Any idea how to restore the workspace? I temporarily moved the pages I could remember to a newly created workspace, but I would obviously like to recover everything.

Thanks

    Hello Junis El Hassan

Sorry to hear this, losing a whole workspace from one click is really frustrating, especially after you've already tried support.

Since you can still find the pages throug,h search, it may be that the workspace is hidden or unlinked rather than gone, so these quick checks might be worth a try:

    • Check the workspace list in Loop on the web (loop.cloud.microsoft), and in the mobile app, while signed in with the same personal account.
    • Sign out and back in, or try a private window, in case it's a display problem.
    • Open one of the pages that used to be in the workspace and select Add to workspace. Then use Duplicate if you want an independent copy.
    • Inside a workspace, the Recycle bin only restores deleted pages, not a whole workspace.

If none of that brings it back, I couldn't find an official way for end users to restore a workspace on a personal account. Because closing a page isn't documented as something that should remove a workspace, it could be a glitch. I'd send it through Loop's Settings and more > Help & feedback > Give feedback, with the date, what you clicked and a screenshot, so the Loop team can look at it.

I'm just a user on the Q&A forum, so I can't access or restore your account data. I hope the pages turn up for you. Warm regards,
