Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Just to confirm: You tested the camera in the Camera app, and it works normally there, right?

To be able to assist you better, please clarify the following:

    • When you try to access the camera in VS Code/Antigravity, do you see a specific error message (e.g., "Device in use", "Permission denied") or just a blank/black video feed?
    • Do you have any virtual camera software installed that might be intercepting the video stream?
    • Do you have a third-party antivirus installed? If yes, which one?

Also, please share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.

For Windows 11, turn on camera permission for apps and desktop apps:

    1. Open Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
    2. Turn on Camera access.
    3. Turn on Let apps access your camera.
    4. If the app is from Microsoft Store, enable it in the app list.
    5. For apps such as VS Code, browsers, Teams, and many non-Store apps, turn on Let desktop apps access your camera.

Then test whether the problem is app-specific:

    1. Open Start > Camera.
    2. If the camera preview works there, the camera is working in Windows and the issue is with the specific app settings.

If the camera still does not work in those apps:

    1. Close other apps that might already be using the camera.
    2. Right-click the taskbar > Task Manager.
    3. End any app that may be using the camera.
    4. Check whether antivirus or third-party security software is blocking camera access.

If Camera access is off and greyed out, an administrator must enable it.

Ensure the privacy settings allows the desktop apps to access camera.

Open the Settings app and go to Privacy & security, then Camera.

Make sure that camera access is enabled, and it is also enabled for desktop and Store apps.
