    Hello Juan Taborda

Microsoft has not announced the retirement of Azure AI Bot Service, and there is currently no published retirement date for the service itself.

Microsoft ended support for Bot Framework SDK v4 and Bot Framework Emulatoron December 31, 2025. Existing bots can continue to run, but the SDK no longer receives new features, fixes, or normal Azure support.

For new development, Microsoft recommends moving to the Microsoft 365 Agents SDK, Teams SDK, or Copilot Studio, depending on the scenario. Importantly, Microsoft’s migration guidance says that an existing Azure Bot resource can remain in place when migrating from Bot Framework SDK.

    So the current situation is:

    • Azure AI Bot Service: not announced for retirement.
    • Bot Framework SDK / Emulator: retired and unsupported since the end of 2025.
    • Existing bots: can continue running.
    • New projects: use Microsoft 365 Agents SDK rather than starting with Bot Framework SDK.

Official Microsoft documentation: Bot Framework SDK retirement / What’s new Migration to Microsoft 365 Agents SDK Provision an Azure Bot resource
