Dear Sir/Madam.

Kindly reply on below points :

Point 1 (mail dated Sun 04-10-2026 03:45) :

All our 9 servers for GL Transformation project (subscription id : f66ba9bd-8f53-4d47-a40f-6b99b2302b7f) :

          a) Belong to EAST US Location

          b) Belong to either of these types : Standard DS12 v2, Standard DS13 v2, Standard B8ms

As per Microsoft mail notification (refer attachment 1), **Price Changes should not affect on Feb 1, 2027**

          Please confirm this.

Point 2 (mail dated 29-09-2026 17:24) :

In this mail, you have listed our subscription id and VM series,

          __Subscription ID:__ f66ba9bd-8f53-4d47-a40f-6b99b2302b7f

          __VM Series:__ Bv1, Dv2, Dsv2

Does this mean Dv2, Dsv2 is in retirement list ?

Does this mean Bv1 is in Price revision list as on 1st February 2027. I checked in the below link, which is not listing Bv1: [https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-machines/linux/#pricing](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-machines/linux/#pricing)

Please reply on this as early as possible, as we need to discuss this with management.

With regards

ELANGO PS

    Hi @Elango Pitaka ,

Would like to know further steps from our side for Migration to respective target environments.

select the new VM series SKU based on requirements. For instance: You can update the DS v2 and D v2 series VMs to the Dsv5/Ddsv5/Dasv5/Dadsv5 series. The D v2 and Dsv5/Ddsv5/Dasv5/Dadsv5 series are using both SCSI disk controllers. No extra step to migrate the SCSI controller type to NVMe controller in the D v6 or Dv7 series is required.

For the B v1 series VM you can migrate to the new B v2 series.

    Source: Recommended Replacement VM Series

There are some how-to guides available for changing the VM series:

Azure VM sizes with no local temporary disk

How do I migrate my Windows VM from a size with local temp disk to a VM size with no local temp disk?

Convert Linux and Windows VMs from SCSI to NVMe (if you like to migrate from a VM series with SCSI disk controller to a series with NVMe disk controller)

And last but not least: Create a backup before migration or changing anything on the VMs

    Hi @Elango Pitaka ,

are you referring to this email notification information?

Beginning 1 February 2027, pricing will increase for specific Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Storage services in the following Azure regions:

    • EU West (Amsterdam) 9%
    • EU North (Dublin) 17%
    • France Central 11%
    • France South 11%
    • Norway East 9%
    • Norway West 9%
    • Southeast Asia (Singapore) 8%

If so: As your VMs are running in the EAST US Location there should be no increase of the VM price. EAST US Location is not mentioned in the email/list of affected regions. At least that is my understanding.

    Regarding you second question:

There is a public retirement date for the Bv1 series: November 15th, 2028 (B series aka Bv1 series)

    Source: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates?id=500682

The Bv1 series is not affected by the price increase based on the mail information:

Services excluded from the regional pricing update The pricing adjustments described above do not apply to the following Azure Virtual Machine series and >Azure Storage services: Azure Virtual Machines

    • v1: Bv1, D, Ds, F, Fs, G, Gs, L, NP, HCS
    • v2: Av2, Amv2, Dv2, Dsv2, Fsv2, Lsv2
    • v7: Dsv7, Ddsv7, Dlsv7, Dldsv7, Esv7, Edsv7

The Dv2 and DSv2 VM SKU series is on the retirement list as well, the retirement date will be: May 1st, 2028.
