Welcome ABL,
Thank you for the detailed description. Since GameInput Redist Service appears to be stuck in the "Stopping" state even after a restart and game input devices are no longer being detected.
Could you please confirm:
- Does the issue affect only Minecraft Bedrock, or are other games unable to detect mouse/controller input as well?
- Did this start after a recent Windows update, game update, or controller software installation?
- In Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System, are there any errors related to GameInput, Service Control Manager, or gaming services around the time the problem occurs?
In the meantime, please try these checks:
- Check the GameInput Service startup type
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Locate GameInput Service.
- Double-click it and let me know what is shown for “Startup type”.
- Run a system file repair
- Open Windows Terminal (Admin) and run:
-
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth -
sfc /scannow
-
- Restart the PC after both commands complete.
- Check for multiple GameInput installations
Open Settings > Installed apps and look for entries named Microsoft GameInput or GameInput Redistributable
Looking forward to your update.
