Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
A payment from one Microsoft account cannot be applied or transferred to a subscription on a different Microsoft account.
What is supported:
- If the old subscription was purchased directly from Microsoft, sign in to the original purchasing account at the Microsoft account subscriptions page and check whether the cancellation flow shows a refund option.
- If the charge happened after cancellation, this can occur when cancellation was made too close to the billing date. Cancellations must be more than 2 days before the billing date.
- If the subscription is already set to expire and shows Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, no further cancellation is needed and it should not renew again.
- If the subscription was bought through Apple, Google Play, or another third party, refund and billing changes must be handled with that provider.
- If a refund is available, eligibility is determined automatically during cancellation.
For the new subscription, it remains separate under the new Microsoft account. The practical path is:
- Sign in to the old Microsoft account at Services & subscriptions.
- Open the cancelled subscription and confirm its status, end date, and whether a refund option appears.
- If no refund option appears, use Contact Microsoft Support for billing help.
