Service: Azure for Students

Scenario: I am trying to sign up for an Azure for Students account and need to complete the academic verification step to activate the offer.

Result: After entering my school name, date of birth, and my university-provided email address, I am not receiving the verification email containing the code. Consequently, I am stuck on the verification page and cannot proceed with account creation.

Environment: I am attempting this on the standard Azure for Students academic verification sign-up page.

Troubleshooting efforts:

I have double-checked that my school email address was entered correctly.

I have checked my Spam, Junk, and Clutter folders to ensure the email was not filtered out.

  • I have waited to account for any potential email delivery delays.
  • Also checked that If I go forward without the verification code, but couldn't.

How can I get my academic status verified to successfully activate this account?

    Dear @Ram Das,

To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:

Could you share a screenshot of the issue message (please remove personal information)?

Please note that the Azure for Students offer is available only to students who meet the following eligibility requirements:

    • You must be at least 18 years old and enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited, degree-granting two-year or four-year educational institution.
    • You must verify your academic status using your institution-issued email address.
    • This offer is not available for participation in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) or professional training programs provided by for-profit organizations.
    • The offer is limited to one Azure for Students subscription per eligible individual. It is non-transferable and cannot be combined with other Microsoft offers unless explicitly permitted.

For complete eligibility details and terms of use, please refer to the Azure for College Students—Offer Details | Microsoft Azure

If your educational institution does not currently have an agreement with Microsoft for Azure for Students, your university's email domain may not yet be recognized by the verification system. In such cases, your institution's administration or IT department may need to work directly with Microsoft to establish eligibility and have the domain validated.

If you believe you meet all the eligibility requirements, I understand how frustrating this situation can be. The recommended next step is to submit a complimentary support request to the Azure Subscription Support team. You can do this by creating a support ticket via How to create an Azure support request - Azure portal | Microsoft Learn and selecting Subscription Management as the issue type.If you are unable to sign in to the Azure portal, please review the following FAQ for alternative support options: Microsoft Azure Support Ticket | Microsoft Azure

You may also contact Support | Azure Dev Tools for Teaching for assistance in your country or region.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.
