We have moved over to the new outlook and as a business we operate in one department where as when attachments are on an email the full attachment name is displayed so that they can be seen such as schedules, Order sheets, the end of the name is really important for the buyers to see, and now they can not see it so there is extra time to have to hoover over every attachment and remember them.

Also it only shows 3 attachments and we could have 8 but in a busy office this could be missed as the "more attachments" is so small it sometimes cant be seen.

How do we set the look in new outlook back to shoeing all attachments and showing full attachment name please as this has now caused issues in out company

@Jodie Thoms

There is currently no way to get New Outlook to display multiple attachments to an email in the same way that Classic Outlook does.

I do not see anything like this on the New Outlook Roadmap.

There is one existing Feature Request similar to part of what you want (show all attachments) that you can Vote for and Comment on.

Attachment Drop-Down is Terrible - Attachments Get Missed

I would suggest that you create a new Feature Request that includes both parts of your request (show all and show full file name).

Please be sure you create this request with the Outlook (new) tag and put a link to your request in this thread so the rest of us can vote for it. (I know I will).

    Dear @Jodie Thoms,

    Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

    Based on your description, I understand that after switching to the new Outlook, you’re experiencing issues with how email attachments are displayed. Specifically, the full attachment names are no longer visible, which makes it harder for your team to identify important details like schedules and order sheets. Additionally, only three attachments are shown by default, and with up to eight attachments in some emails, the small “more attachments” option can easily be overlooked. You’d like to know how to restore the previous view where all attachments and their full names were clearly displayed, as this change has caused workflow challenges in your department.

    I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

    Regarding this matter, I have tested on my environment and also my colleagues' and we encountered the same option 'Show all X attachments' when sending many attachments in one email:

    Even when I opened the email in a new window:

    This appears to be part of the new Outlook design update, which aims to provide a cleaner interface and reduce clutter in the message pane. At this time, there isn’t a setting to revert to the classic view where all attachments and full names are displayed inline.

    If this design is creating challenges for your workflow, I encourage you to share your feedback directly with Microsoft through Help > Feedback in Outlook. Your input will go straight to the product team and plays a valuable role in shaping future improvements.

This helps the product team prioritize changes that matter most to you.
