Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook on the web for business
Dear @Jaiswal Anupriya X,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how inconvenient it is to receive the message “Something went wrong. We couldn’t send your calendar invite. Waiting a bit might help…” when trying to send a meeting invitation in Outlook on the Web, especially since email sending still works and the desktop Outlook client behaves normally.
As you have already tried the key troubleshooting steps for your browser and Outlook on the web, I’ve thoroughly reviewed the details you provided and conducted an investigation on our end.
There is an ongoing service incident affecting Exchange Online across multiple platforms, including Outlook on the web, which aligns with the behavior you’ve reported.
- Email delivery relies primarily on basic mailbox functions and SMTP or TLS, which are not directly affected by this incident.
- However, meeting invitations depend on Exchange Calendar services and certain Microsoft 365 Groups or Graph permissions. These components can be impacted when configurations such as SecurityEnabled are set to False, which can contribute to the issue you are seeing.
The developer team is aware of this issue and is actively working on a resolution to roll out a fix as soon as possible. For further details, please review this incident report in the Service health menu in Microsoft 365 admin center.
Note: Only IT administrators have access to the Microsoft 365 admin center to view additional details.
To ensure a deeper and more precise investigation, I recommend reaching out to your organization’s IT administrator so they can contact Microsoft Support.
A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis.
- I sincerely recommend reaching out to your IT administrator to create a support ticket via Microsoft Admin Center > Support > Help & Support for further investigation.
- Microsoft provides customer service phone numbers based on your region. Your IT admin can find the appropriate contact number here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support
