New Entra tenant blocked by AADSTS5000228; private support portal and support email also fail
I created a new Microsoft Entra directory account on 20 October 2026 to connect my existing Microsoft Store developer account to server-side purchase validation. I am the account creator and have no other administrator available. I cannot inspect the actual assigned administrator roles because tenant access fails.
Entra sign-in repeatedly returns AADSTS5000228: Access to tenant is denied. The error explicitly identifies my own newly created tenant. The Microsoft 365 Admin Center also returned HTTP ERROR 401. Refreshing and retrying in a new tab did not resolve the denial.
A separate intermediate attempt produced AADSTS50020 for the Microsoft Services tenant. Please distinguish that wrong-directory error from the later AADSTS5000228 for my own tenant.
An earlier personal-account attempt also returned AADSTS16000 for Microsoft Services. A later attempt displayed timed_out. Another signup retry showed: "We cannot complete your request. There are technical problems with the Microsoft account. Please try again later." The exact cause and relationship between these messages are not established.
The official Entra SelfHelp tool passed all nine browser/connectivity checks earlier today. The public Microsoft and Azure status pages showed no general incident at the time checked. These checks do not verify tenant permissions.
Signup reached Add payment method after Account details and Sign-in details were marked complete. I cannot establish whether unfinished account/billing provisioning is related. I need to resume the existing setup without creating a duplicate tenant or buying an unrelated plan.
The private support routes have also failed:
- Windows Developer Support > Create support case (MSA) reaches Engage Center, but the form stayed loading and the home view showed No Access.
- Partner Center says its AI assistant does not support personal Microsoft accounts and directs this request back to Dev Center Support.
- The invitation email titled "Get started with Microsoft Engage Center" was received. Its personal-account link produces "unauthorized_client: The client does not exist or is not enabled for consumers."
- An email to [email protected], suggested in older Microsoft employee guidance, bounced immediately with "550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied." No support case number has been received.
Could a Microsoft staff member help open a private account-access case or direct me to a working channel for the Microsoft Entra/account provisioning team? Please investigate whether the new tenant is fully provisioned, whether a restriction or incomplete verification exists, and what steps are needed to restore access.
I can provide both account addresses, tenant ID, trace/correlation IDs, timestamps, screenshots and ownership verification privately through an official Microsoft support process. I have intentionally omitted personal account identifiers and screenshots from this public question.
