    Hi scott whitelaw,

Thank you for the update. The Continue button should appear only after you select Add Account and enter the email address you want to add.

If you have already entered the address and the button is still missing, could you share a screenshot of the screen currently displayed, with any personal details hidden? Also, please let me know which type of account you are trying to add, such as Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, or another email provider. This will help to identify the appropriate next step without repeating the instructions you have already tried. Thank you so much for your understanding.

The Your accounts page is one screen too early—select Add account, enter the email address, and then Continue will appear.

Add the IMAP or POP account

    1. Open New Outlook.
    2. Select Settings (the gear icon).
    3. Go to Accounts → Your accounts.
    4. Select Add account.
    5. Enter the full email address for the account.
    6. Select Continue. Microsoft’s documented sequence places this button after the email-address field, not on the Your accounts list itself.^1^
    7. If Outlook cannot detect the settings automatically, choose the manual or advanced setup option and select IMAP or POP. New Outlook supports other accounts connecting through either protocol.^2^
    8. Enter the incoming and outgoing server names, ports, encryption type, username, and password supplied by your email provider.

If the email address has been entered but the button is not visible, press Tab until Continue receives focus, then press Enter. That is also Microsoft’s documented keyboard sequence.^1^

For manual configuration, obtain the exact incoming server, outgoing SMTP server, ports, and SSL/encryption settings from the email provider; these values vary by provider.^3^

A separate previous chat cannot be displayed from this conversation, but the missing step in the instructions was selecting Add account before looking for Continue.
