USB mic not working after BIOS update

Hi. I'm on Windows 11. I have an MSI motherboard and a 13th Gen Intel i7 13700KF processor. And I have a simple Logitech USB headset.

I did a BIOS update last night because of the Vmin Shift Instability issue. After the update, my headset mic stopped working. The headset speakers work just fine, but the mic doesn't. Windows registers the device in both Device Manager and Sound Settings. It shows the microphone as enabled and working properly. However, if I try to use it in Discord or Windows Sound Recorder, it says "no audio input device detected". To make sure it wasn't a hardware issue, I tested this headset on my laptop (Windows 10) and the microphone works just fine.

I've tried uninstalling the headset mic and speakers in Device Manager, unplugging the headset, rebooting my PC, and plugging the headset back in. I've tried changing the USB port it's plugged into. I checked for driver updates and installed what came up. I ran DSIM repair, I did a sfc scan. And yes, I checked to make sure the mic isn't muted - it's not. Nothing has fixed it. I was bumping up against the "reinstall Windows" last resort, but I really don't want to do that if I can help it...

Which is when I remembered that I have a FIFINE USB microphone collecting dust in my closet, so I decided on a whim to plug that in and see if it worked. To my surprise, it DOES. So right now, it seems like Windows hates my Logitech headset's microphone specifically, which is truly absurd. I'm at a loss here.

Any ideas?

    • Press WINDOWS + R > Type "msinfo32" > Send me a screenshot of the "System Summary" page.
