Hi everyone,

Has anyone else received a confirmation email from Microsoft for Startups about Azure credits,
but unable to find the Azure credits on the portal ?

I checked under Cost Management + Billing → Payment methods, I can see my registered payment card,
but no Azure credits are displayed,

Can someone please help?
( I have already raised a support ticket but haven't received a reply for 3 days)

A payment card alone does not confirm that the Startup credits were activated; complete the activation path for your enrollment date, then verify that you are signed in with the Microsoft account that owns the resulting Azure Sponsorship subscription.

    1. Verify that activation was completed

The activation process depends on when you joined Microsoft for Startups.^1^

If you joined before May 29, 2026:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal with the Microsoft account used to register.
    2. On the homepage, select Activate Azure.
    3. Select Link Microsoft account and choose the relevant personal Microsoft account.
    4. Select Activate.
    5. Select Complete Azure sign-up and finish the payment-method step.
    6. Wait up to 24 hours for the balance to appear.

If Complete Azure sign-up was already finished, do not activate again; continue with the account checks below.

If you joined on or after May 29, 2026:

    1. Open the Microsoft for Startups application experience and select Get started now.
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with the offer.
    3. Follow the applicable path:
      • With an investor referral code: complete the application, then select Continue to Azure sign up.
      • Without a referral code: select Continue without a code, then select Sign up beside the Azure-credit offer.
    4. Complete all three Azure setup stages: profile, address, and payment information.
    5. After setup completes, open the startup dashboard and allow up to 24 hours for the balance to update.^1^

Credits must be activated within 90 days of accepting the program agreement.^2^

    2. Check the account and subscription

Startup credits are tied to the individual Microsoft account used for activation, not merely to the card or an existing Azure login.

    1. Sign out of Azure.
    2. Sign in with each personal Microsoft account that may have been used during activation.
    3. In the Azure portal, open Subscriptions.
    4. Look for a subscription whose type is Azure Sponsorship.
    5. Switch to its associated directory if necessary, then check:
      • Cost Management + Billing → Payment methods
      • Cost Management + Billing → Billing profiles

Finding Azure Sponsorship identifies the activating account. The activation process creates the relevant subscription and applies credits to the billing profile associated with that account.^3^

An existing Pay-As-You-Go subscription does not automatically receive the Startup credits. If the same Microsoft account was used and you need that subscription associated with the credits, ask Azure Support to link the subscriptions to the same billing profile.^3^

    3. Escalate through the correct queue if necessary

Since a ticket is already open, do not create a duplicate if it was submitted through Microsoft for Startups Program Support. Add these details to that case:

    • Confirmation email and activation date
    • Microsoft account used for activation
    • Azure subscription ID and billing-profile name
    • Screenshot showing the missing balance
    • Whether an Azure Sponsorship subscription appears

If the existing ticket was submitted to general Azure technical support instead, use the dedicated program route:

Azure portal → Startup homepage → Overview → Your Microsoft Team → Get program support

That team handles Startup credit activation, sponsorship, billing-profile, entitlement, and owner-account issues. Reference the existing case number when submitting through the correct route to avoid parallel investigations.^4^
